SLG Advances NDACC Innovative Air-Cooling Technology
2026-02-10
On January 20–21, the preliminary design review and second design coordination meeting for the NDACC system of a 2×660 MW coal-fired integrated power project under SPIC were held in Jiangyin, China. The review was organized by the China Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute (EPPEI).
NDACC technology combines the advantages of direct and indirect air-cooling systems, offering an air-cooling solution characterized by zero fan power consumption and high-efficiency primary heat exchange. Following five years of in-house research and development, the technology has been engineered for application under demanding conditions, including ambient temperatures down to –40°C and wind pressure up to 0.93 kPa.
The upgraded NDACC 2.0 configuration, designed for cold-climate and high-wind applications, integrates six core technical features: dynamic zoned vacuum extraction, ultra-low back pressure operation, independent subcooling, balanced condensation, wind deviation control, and full-process intelligent control. These features enable stable and economical operation in extreme low-temperature environments while improving operational robustness under high-wind conditions.
The project further demonstrates the applicability of NDACC technology in challenging environments and supports the continued expansion of air-cooling solutions for thermal power applications.
