SLG Supports Refinery Modernization Project in Kyrgyzstan
2026-05-26
In March 2026, SLG supplied 30 shell-and-tube heat exchangers to SPEC ENGINEERING INC. for the modernization and expansion project of the KPC refinery in Jalal-Abad, Kyrgyzstan.
As the EPC contractor, SPEC is leading the upgrade of the existing refinery, which currently processes 500,000 tons of crude oil annually. After modernization, the refinery will be capable of producing higher-quality AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline, as well as upgraded diesel products that comply with Eurasian Economic Union standards.
The project adopts a unique refining technology and is expected to become the first refinery of its kind in Central Asia. SLG’s high-efficiency and energy-saving heat exchanger solutions will support more stable and efficient plant operation throughout the upgrading process.
This refinery modernization project is of great significance for Kyrgyzstan, helping reduce the country’s dependence on imported high-grade fuel products while supporting the development of its domestic energy industry.
